Pulling out the body is a rather laborious process. However, there is a method of performing this operation using coins. It does not involve drilling holes in metal. This method is especially useful in places where the metal is thin enough.
It is necessary
- - body;
- - coins;
- - propane burner;
- - electrodes;
- - brush;
- - grinding machine;
- - ticks;
- - bar;
- - file.
Instructions
Step 1
Cut the 3mm diameter welding electrode into equal lengths equal to the depth of the indentation. After that, solder them to the coins and let them cool down. To make the contact more durable, strip the opposite side of the coin until it is smooth. This will help increase the contact surface area of the coin's point. For all the work, 5-6 thin electrodes are enough for you.
Step 2
Remove all dirt, paint, rust or grease from the dent area using a sander. Tin the entire area with a steel wire brush and a propane torch. Do the same for each coin. This tinning of the tank precedes the process of soldering the electrodes to the indentation.
Step 3
Apply solder to the damaged area using a small welding torch. Cleaning is also done with a steel wire brush. As soon as you can tin the coins and metal, press the coin to the surface of the panel.
Step 4
Solder the rods to the deepest areas of the dent. When finished soldering, move the torch aside and allow time for the solder to solidify. Once all the coins have been soldered around the perimeter of the dent, pull it out using a pliers.
Step 5
Grasp each electrode in turn and pull it out. If that doesn't work, then place a block of wood along the area of the dent. Then bend the electrode above the level of the pliers and use them as a lever, and the bar as a support. This will help increase traction. Once you pull the dent out to the desired shape, heat up the coins and remove them from the metal. Sand the entire area with a sander and file.
