Step 1
The reasons prompting the owner to dismantle the radiator, in most cases, are: the appearance of antifreeze leakage from it or cleaning the internal surfaces from the sludge deposited there, which often leads to overheating of the motor. Due to the fact that the car is endowed with small dimensions, in preparation for the upcoming repair, it will be necessary to dismantle the engine compartment hood and remove from there: the spare wheel, the expansion and glass washer reservoir, the air filter and the air intake.
Step 2
The plug in the lower radiator tank is unscrewed and antifreeze is drained from the cooling system into a previously prepared container with a volume of more than ten liters.
Step 3
In old-style cars, the radiator fan is fixed to the water pump, so only the diffuser is removed from it.
Step 4
In the machines of the latest releases, equipped with injection engines, two electric fans are installed for blowing the specified cooling system devices, which are removed together with the diffuser, after unscrewing six bolts with a 10 mm wrench and disconnecting the wiring connectors.
Step 5
Regardless of the year of manufacture of the car from the radiator, loosening the tightening of four clamps with a screwdriver, detach and then remove two rubber pipes, with the help of which the fluid of the engine cooling system circulates in a large circle.
Step 6
With a 10 mm head, the bolts of the right and left fastening of the radiator to the car body are unscrewed, after which it is removed from the lower support cushions and dismantled from the car for further refurbishment or scrapping.
