If you have any suspicion that the radiator is leaking, immediately have a pressure test performed in a workshop. If the defect is obvious, you can independently remove the radiator and take it for repair.
It is necessary
- - wrench
- - screwdrivers
Instructions
Step 1
Remove the underbody protection from the engine compartment and drain the coolant. Disconnect the hoses and cable lugs located on the thermal switch of the cooling fan from the radiator and remove the plugs of this fan.
Step 2
For models with 4- and 6-cylinder engines, remove the retaining bolts on both sides of the radiator. Press it back slightly and remove with the fan.
Step 3
On the model with a five-cylinder engine, remove the upper radiator guard. To do this, unscrew the bolts, pull it out of the front mountings. Remove the coolant pipes from the top and bottom of the radiator. Then disconnect the small tube that fits the expansion tank on the radiator.
Step 4
On the right side of the radiator, completely unscrew the retaining partition, bottom mount. Remove the heatsink by pulling it up.
Step 5
In some equipment variants (enhanced cooling, towing hitch, air conditioning), the five-cylinder engine is equipped with an additional water radiator located directly in front of the engine and connected in parallel with the main radiator. To dismantle it, remove the lower protection of the engine compartment.
Step 6
Drain the coolant and disconnect the coolant hoses from the radiator. On the add-on, remove the retaining nuts.
Step 7
To remove the hoses using a screwdriver, loosen the unscrewed clamps. Using pliers, squeeze the spring clips on both "ears" until they stop. After removing the hoses, loosen their tight ends with a screwdriver. To do this, insert it between the nozzle and the hose and move it like a lever.
Step 8
If new hoses need to be installed, slide them into the nozzles as deep as possible so that they do not slip. When tightening the screw clamps, do not use too much force to avoid stripping the threads.
