It is necessary

  • - rubber gaskets;
  • - Screwdriver Set;
  • - clean rags;
  • - cotton gloves;
  • - set of wrenches.

Instructions

Step 1

Visit an auto parts store and buy small rubber gaskets for the fuel line. They are disposable, so they wear out very quickly. When removing and replacing the fuel pump, replace the old gaskets with new ones.

Step 2

Carefully read the manual for your Lada Priora car. If you do not have it, then visit the Prior Owners Forum site. There you can find detailed photos of the process of dismantling the fuel pump.

Step 3

If the old fuel pump has become unusable, then get a new one. In this case, you should buy only a gas pump of the brand that is recommended for use by the AvtoVAZ plant. The use of third party parts increases the risk of sudden damage to your vehicle.

Step 4

Please note that you should only replace the fuel pump yourself if the warranty has expired. Personal intervention will interrupt the factory and showroom warranty.

Step 5

Switch off the car and fold the back seat of the car. Take a cross-blade screwdriver and unscrew the two self-tapping screws that secure the gas pump. Open the small door carefully.

Step 6

Find all the pads of wires connected to the connectors of the fuel pump. Disconnect them and label them so as not to be confused when reconnecting.

Step 7

Start the car and wait until it stalls by itself. After that, turn on the ignition for ten to fifteen seconds so that the starter spins. This is necessary to relieve pressure in the fuel system. Be sure to follow this step! Otherwise, the risk of fuel detonation is very high!

Step 8

Disconnect all fuel lines carefully. Wrap the ends in a clean rag so as not to stain the interior with gasoline.

Step 9

Find all the nuts and loosen them carefully. Remove the retaining ring and remove the fuel pump housing from the groove.

Step 10

There are two thin rubber bands on the bottom of the fuel pump body. Take them off. Then detach the small light plastic trough.

Step 11

Clean the screen with a semi-hard brush dipped in gasoline. If it has become completely unusable, then install a new one.

Step 12

Reassemble in reverse order.
