Often, car owners think about the issue of installing an additional brake light in their car. And this issue is quite important, since your own safety and the safety of other road users are above all. Installing such a device does not present any particular difficulties both in terms of technical complexity and in terms of finance.
Necessary
- - stop signal;
- - insulating tape;
- - screwdrivers.
Instructions
Step 1
To begin with, think about the correct choice of the model of the additional brake light. Please read the specifications of your battery carefully, as buying a high power flashlight may reduce the battery life.
Step 2
Proceed directly to the installation of an additional brake light. To do this, decide on the place of installation: spoiler, rear shelf in the car, rear bumper, etc. It is advisable to install the lamp in the car interior, behind the glass, since in this case the risk of brake light breakage due to precipitation, dirt, road dust, stones is reduced.
Step 3
Secure the brake light to the rear parcel shelf. The fixing method depends on the design of the selected lantern. It can be double-sided tape or a suction cup. Also, for greater stability, you can carefully make holes in the rear roof member. After fixing, connect the positive lead of the lamp to the corresponding lead of the main brake lights, located under the rear sofa. Lead the negative wire to the car body.
Step 4
In case the rear parcel shelf is occupied, install an additional brake light on the bumper. Lead the positive wire to the corresponding wires of the main brake lights. Connect the negative wire to the metal part of the case. The spoiler is also the most difficult place to mount the lantern. In this case, it is necessary to lead all the wires through it. It will be more convenient if the internal structure of the spoiler is hollow. When installing, remember to carefully insulate the wires to avoid contact with the case.
