Due to the fact that the Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation is gradually "tightening the screws", forcing the population either to switch to "miracles" of the domestic auto industry, or to pay exorbitant duties for a car delivered to the country, the question arose: how to import a car without duties? There are several ways to solve this problem.
Instructions
Step 1
The first way: temporary import. It is possible for tourists (and not only) from abroad who have expressed a desire to travel across the vast expanses of our homeland on their own transport. To do this, you must pay a symbolic fee at customs (the amount is determined directly at the place of payment). However, there is a small "but".
Step 2
The right to use vehicles imported in this way is valid for only one year, then it is necessary to cross the border and import it again. This path is possible for residents of other states.
Step 3
And for Russian citizens, this method will be suitable if the imported car is registered on the territory of a foreign state, and the total period of the transport temporarily crossed the border does not exceed six months within one calendar year for each temporarily imported car.
Step 4
This method is convenient for residents of border areas, but can create a significant problem for the population of the central part of the country. The algorithm of actions is simple. When purchasing a car abroad, upon import, you draw up a package of documents at customs and, depending on your citizenship (Russian - once every six months, another state - once a year), cross the border on it and re-enter in order to issue a new package of documents. For example, residents of St. Petersburg can travel to Finland.
Step 5
The second way: buy a car in Kazakhstan, with which Russia does not have customs duties within the framework of the customs union. However, not everything is smooth here either. You can import duty-free only a car registered in Kazakhstan no later than January 01, 2010 and complying with the Euro-4 standard. Otherwise, you will have to pay duties, and in case of non-compliance with European standards, it will not be possible to register a car in the territory of the Russian Federation at all.
