Today, a huge number of car manufacturers endow their creations not with the well-known ignition systems using a conventional key, but with systems in which the engine is turned on with a single button. Many car owners decide to independently improve their vehicle in order to keep up with fashion trends for themselves.

Necessary

  • - small screwdriver;
  • - scheme;
  • - knife;
  • - soldering iron.

Instructions

Step 1

Make sure all wires are disconnected from the battery first. If so, remove the steering column shroud.

Step 2

Now you need to turn the ignition key to the first position. Use a small screwdriver to do this. Also depress all available clips. Remove the plastic cover from the connector plug so that all necessary wires can be easily accessible.

Step 3

When they are in front of you, use the diagram to figure out which wire leads to where. Now you need to remove all the wires going to the starter electromagnet. Bite off the contact from them, and then strip the ends, which subsequently need to be soldered together with the wire from the new relay.

Step 4

Now take the thick wire that was located next to the starter. Strip the ends of the wire with a knife, then solder it together with the winding of the relay power supply.

Step 5

When all the wires are carefully soldered, cover the connector plug with the cover, and then connect the connector. It should be noted that in one set with the relay (you have already soldered the drive to it) there is a fuse holder. It needs to be attached in a place that is easily accessible so that later, if it becomes necessary to replace it, you do not have to disassemble the entire front panel.

Step 6

Connect a ground wire to the relay. These wires are often brown. Cut it from the connector and attach it to the starter button, which must have one more contact. You will attach a relay wire to it.

Step 7

Now, before the final stage of the assembly, check how functional the button turned out to be. If you've followed each of the directions above, then you should be able to get started on the first try. You can install the button itself in any place you like.
