Most modern cars are equipped with electric windows. This is a very convenient innovation that allows you not to be distracted while moving to open the window mechanically. However, the electrician fails very often. To repair such a window regulator, you need to disassemble the button.
It is necessary
Cotton gloves, screwdrivers, soldering iron, flashlight, your car manual
Instructions
Step 1
Select the location where you will disassemble the button. A garage is best suited for this purpose. Drive the car into it and apply the parking brake. Open the hood. Remove the negative terminal from the battery. This will de-energize the on-board power supply system and avoid short circuits. If you have an alarm, do not forget to turn it off. Otherwise, when the negative terminal is removed, it will work. Check your vehicle manual. Sometimes in it the manufacturer indicates a diagram of the structure of the power window button. If the windows were installed independently, then try to find the instructions that came with the kit.
Step 2
Open the door from which you want to remove the button as much as possible. Take a close look at how the button attachment works. The driver's door usually has a built-in board in which there are buttons for all power windows, as well as toggle switches for controlling the central lock. This fee can only be withdrawn in its entirety. To do this, remove the cover plates. Below them, you will see the bolts that hold the board. Unscrew them carefully. Be sure to remember the location of each bolt, as they may vary slightly in thickness and length. After that, unscrew the plastic brackets that secure the board from the inside and remove it. Several wires are attached to the back of the board. If there are screws on the back that hold the wires, open them. If the wires are soldered, then it is necessary to remove the door trim, find the wiring block from the board and disconnect it.
Step 3
Neatly the face of the button. It is usually attached to plastic pins. You need to make a little effort and pull the top towards you. Also, the front part can be bolted on the back side. Unscrew it. Pull towards you. If you want to completely disassemble the button, then unsolder the wires. Carefully remove the side plate. Bend back the tendrils that hold the soft-pressing mechanism. Take it out. The button is now completely disassembled. Also note that not all buttons can be fully disassembled. There are disposable ones that cannot be repaired. If the power window button is located on the torpedo or on the central tunnel, then the procedure is the same. On a torpedo, buttons are usually installed on a removable part, so the dismantling process is much easier.
