Anyone can increase engine power, regardless of the brand of the car and the year of its production. To do this, it is not necessary to create additional noise effects by dismantling the exhaust pipe. A simple compressor is enough.
What is a compressor?
The compressor looks like a snail shell. And if the snails had a compressor instead of their usual spiral house, then no one would dare to call them slow.
The compressor increases the air supply to the fuel system: the engine receives more fuel-air mixture and, when it burns, increases the power by 15-30% of the original. In addition, the compressor affects the quality of the intake mixture. Due to mechanical air injection, the quality of the mixture is significantly increased.
How does a compressor work?
There is an overlap phase in the engine cycle. At the moments of these phases, the valves for the intake and release of the mixture into the engine are half-open. It is at this moment that the combustion chamber of the engine is cleaned from residual gases that are no longer suitable for combustion. Thus, the compressor frees up space for the injection of a fresh mixture in large quantities, due to which its total mass for combustion increases, and, consequently, the engine power increases.
When the volume of the engine is increased, the main purpose of this manipulation is to increase the amount of the air-fuel mixture entering the engine for combustion.
The compressor helps to achieve the same results, but with the least labor and financial investment. You can install the compressor yourself - a couple of hours under the hood, and your car will become faster by a dozen or two horsepower.
Unlike the turbine, which performs the same functions, the compressor does not require major interventions in the engine design. When installing a turbine, you have to purchase a lot of related material and parts, such as an intake manifold, and the like. Moreover, if you want to sell your car, the compressor can be easily dismantled and the engine can be brought back to its normal form and operating mode, which cannot be done with a turbine. However, it is worth remembering that during the operation of the compressor (exactly like the turbine), not only the engine power increases, but also the fuel consumption.
