Oil change in reciprocating compressors is required at certain values of the motor resource. The procedure is quite simple and can be done on your own at home.

It is necessary

  • - set of wrenches;
  • - Screwdriver Set;
  • - oil of the corresponding brand;
  • - rags;
  • - container for draining mining;
  • - wide brush;
  • - gasoline A-92.

Instructions

Step 1

The first oil change in the compressor is carried out after a short "run" of the unit, during which the piston system is lapped. Usually this is about 50-100 hours of work. Each subsequent oil change depends on the service life of the device, also expressed in engine hours. The specific duration of the oil change intervals is set by the manufacturer. Machine oil must not be used in reciprocating compressors. Usually, the compressor is filled with special compressor oil of the KS-17 or KS-19 brands, it is possible to use foreign analogues, for example, Shell Corena D46 or Mobil Rarus.

Step 2

The manufacturer's recommendations are limited to draining the used oil and filling in new oil, while for compressors it is simply necessary to periodically clean the connecting rod-piston mechanism chamber from microscopic shavings and residues of old oil that accumulate in it. Compressor preparation for oil change consists in preheating it and draining the waste. If there is no drain plug, you will need to unscrew the level control eye and drain the oil through it, while tilting the compressor itself. Keep the filler neck open when draining the oil.

Step 3

In most compressor models, the connecting rod compartment has a removable cover mounted on a paronite gasket or sealant. The cover is secured with several screws that need to be removed. A small amount of oil may leak out when the cover is removed, so always keep a container handy. The cover, the inner surface of the chamber and the mechanism itself should be cleaned with a regular brush dipped in gasoline. When the dirt is removed, wipe the cleaned surfaces with a dry cloth, then reinstall the camera cover.

Step 4

The air filter and non-return valve must be cleaned before adding new oil. They are usually in the form of a cylinder mounted on top of the mechanical chamber. Usually, foam filters are used, which can be cleaned with gasoline. Cardboard filters, which are not so widely used, are cleaned by blowing. The filter housing, ball and check valve seat must also be rinsed in gasoline and dried.

Step 5

Fresh oil should be poured through a special neck, in which an optional dipstick can be installed to measure the oil level. Grease should be poured to a normal level, you can check the amount of leaked mining. After changing the oil, it needs to be allowed to settle for about an hour so that excess air comes out, after which you can turn on the compressor.
