In the design of cars in the engine ignition system, an interrupter-distributor is provided, equipped with a Hall sensor, as well as a vacuum and centrifugal mechanism for advancing the ignition angle, which move the contact disc fixed on the bearing, thereby changing the moment of ignition of the fuel mixture in the combustion chamber of the working cylinder.

Necessary

  • - curly screwdriver,
  • - 10 mm spanner,
  • - new bearing.

Instructions

Step 1

The correct operation of the engine depends on the correct clearances on the breaker contacts, as well as the absence of any backlashes in the distributor mechanisms. The main load in the ignition distributor is carried by the support bearing. It is the appearance of backlash in it that leads to the unstable operation of the motor at idle, which is especially noticeable when the speed rises sharply, when the accelerator pedal sinks, which is called “into the floor”.

Step 2

If such phenomena appear during engine operation, then it is necessary to disassemble the breaker-distributor of the ignition system and, as a rule, change the support bearing in it.

Step 3

To accomplish this task, first set the crankshaft to the "top dead center" position of the first cylinder on the compression stroke. This will facilitate your work in the future during the installation of the interrupter-distributor, as well as simplify the adjustment of the ignition timing.

Step 4

Using a screwdriver, unscrew the two screws securing the cover with high-voltage wires, which should be set aside so as not to interfere with further work.

Step 5

Then remove the "slider". And later, disconnect the rubber vacuum tube and the electrical block connected at the bottom.

Step 6

Unscrewing the three nuts of the distributor breaker with a 10 mm wrench - remove it.

Step 7

Next, two screws are unscrewed with a screwdriver, which ensure the simultaneous fastening of the bearing and the electrical connector. The latter is dismantled. Then the retaining ring on the rod of the vacuum regulator is removed, and after unscrewing the two bolts of its fastening, the regulator is also dismantled.

Step 8

After dismantling the Hall sensor and bearing pressure plate, the bearing itself is removed, and a new one is installed instead.

Step 9

All further steps for assembling and installing the distributor breaker are performed in reverse order.
