Instructions
Step 1
For most vehicles, a special adapter is required to install a sports steering wheel. It is recommended to purchase special SPARCO safety adapters. Such an adapter absorbs some of the energy upon impact, thus partially reducing the likelihood of injury. The search for an adapter adapter for an uncommon foreign-made car model can take quite a long time.
Step 2
Set the front wheels straight before starting any work. This can be done by driving some distance at low speed while holding the steering wheel. Remove the negative lead from the battery.
Step 3
Before removing the old steering wheel, locate the airbag control module, if equipped. You can locate this module according to the instructions for the car. On this module, locate and disconnect the multi-pin connector and insulate it. This operation will disable the deployment of the airbags during the work.
Step 4
Remove the old steering wheel. Unscrew the signal plate from the old steering wheel and screw it onto the adapter. Pass the wires inside the adapter. Make sure the contacts touch each other when you turn the steering wheel. If this does not happen, the beep will not function.
Step 5
Then install the steering shaft adapter, but finally screw it on only after the steering wheel is evenly installed. In other words, just make it happen.
Step 6
You can set the steering wheel exactly on a straight free area. To do this, drive straight forward for a while, and then back up. At the same time, set the steering wheel straight, if necessary, remove the adapter and reinstall it with an offset. Then fix the adapter completely.
Step 7
The sports steering wheel itself is attached to the adapter with special screws that must be included with the adapter or with the sports steering wheel. Connect the horn button.
