The clutch mechanism is designed to transfer engine torque to the transmission. At its core, the clutch acts as an intermediary between the engine and the manual gearbox. In cases where cars are equipped with an automatic transmission, they do not have a clutch, as such.

Step 1
The fair sex prefer cars with "automatic transmission", and most men prefer cars with reliable "mechanics", following the principle: "the simpler, the more reliable."
Step 2
The clutch mechanism consists of two discs: the leader (popularly called the "clutch basket") and the driven - with friction linings that wear out over time, especially when driving in extreme road conditions. Which sometimes requires a complete replacement of the clutch.
Step 3
You can change the clutch directly on the machine, after removing the gearbox, but it is much more convenient on the removed engine, for example, during the current or overhaul of the engine.
Step 4
To replace both clutch discs, the M6 bolts are unscrewed with an 8 mm head, which are designed to attach the drive disc to the engine flywheel.
Step 5
At this stage, before proceeding with the dismantling of the "clutch basket", the fastening bolts should be struck two or three times with a hammer through a spacer made of non-ferrous metal. That will prevent thread stripping in the flywheel holes.
Step 6
Then, sequentially, not more than one turn at a time, all six bolts are gradually turned out.
Step 7
After that, both old clutch discs are removed, and new ones are installed instead.
Step 8
By inserting the gearbox shaft through the splined clutch of the driven disk into the flywheel bearing, the drive disk is fully tightened, after which the shaft is removed from there. This completes the clutch replacement procedure.
