The bumper of the Lada Granta car is a part that is more susceptible to mechanical damage than all other structural elements. For replacement, repair or external tuning of the bumper, the skills to dismantle it will come in handy.
The bumper of the Lada Granta car protects the body from deformation in collisions, effectively extinguishing the energy of the impact force. In addition to this important function, the bumper plays an aesthetic role, giving the vehicle a complete look.
It is the bumper that is more often than other structural elements exposed to external influences: scratches from branches, high curbs, cracks from stones, damage in the event of an accident, etc. To repair or completely replace the Grants bumper, you will need skills to dismantle this part.
Removing the front bumper
To dismantle the front bumper of Lada Grants, you will need a small number of tools: wrench # 8, Phillips screwdriver, TORX T20 wrench and socket # 10. All dismantling works are carried out only with the negative terminal of the battery removed. Before removing the bumper, you must first dismantle the registration plate in order to gain access to the two bolts that hold the front bumper to the structure of its amplifier.
Then, using a Phillips screwdriver, two side bolts are unscrewed in the arch above the right and left wheels, which attach the front parts of the wheel arch liners to the bumper. Further, by opening the hood, in the engine compartment, four central and two side bolts are unscrewed, which attach the bumper to the car body from above. From below, the bumper is attached to the wheel arch liners and body with two screws and four bolts, they also need to be unscrewed.
There are latches on both sides of the bumper that connect it to the fender. Gently, with little effort, pulling the edges of the bumper, you need to release the latches from their fixation slots. After that, disconnect the wire connectors and completely remove the bumper from the Lada Granta car.
Removing the rear bumper
The rear bumper is dismantled using the same tools, only instead of the T20 key, you will need a TORX T30 key. Before starting work, you must first remove the rear wheel arch liners on both sides, and then unscrew the two screws that secure the bumper to the wheel arches. On the underside of the body, the bumper is fixed with three bolts, which are unscrewed with a key.
In order to disconnect the rear bumper from the fixing elements around the body, you need to remove the taillights. Access to the mountings of the lights is opened after removing the trim of the tailgate of the car. Having unscrewed the eight bolts securing the part to the body, you need to remove the side latches from engagement with the brackets, slightly move the bumper to the side and, having disconnected the wire connectors, finally remove the rear bumper from the Lada Granta car.
