If the window regulator button stops working on the car, then driving on it turns into a real nightmare. An open window in winter or closed in summer heat is a very dubious pleasure. You can fix the problem yourself, armed with a simple set of tools.
Necessary
- - crosshead screwdriver;
- - flat screwdriver.
Instructions
Step 1
If the budget allows, then instead of the old button, you can put a new one with chrome tips. This is not only very beautiful, but also durable, since ordinary buttons break down rather quickly, especially with careless handling, and lose their appearance. But before replacing them, it is necessary to dismantle the old buttons.
Step 2
In this case, the most important thing is to carefully remove the wooden lining, while being careful not to break its fasteners. To do this, using a small flat screwdriver, pry it on the right side and pull it slightly towards you until you hear a characteristic click. Do the same on the left side of the overlay and pull it off to two clicks in the same way. It is worth noting that the most recent pad mount has a more complex design. To remove it, you need to pull the cover towards you and take it to the left.
Step 3
After removing the wood trim, remove the tweeter mesh and use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the five fixing screws. Use a screwdriver with a length of at least 12 cm to unscrew the bolt under the door handle.
Step 4
As soon as you unscrew the last fifth bolt, walk along the contour and rip off a few caps, then remove the skin by slightly pulling it up.
Step 5
Now unfasten the door release cable, disconnect the buzzer and the wire attached to the door electronics unit. Use a flat screwdriver to bend the latches and remove the button block.
Step 6
Replace the old window regulator buttons with new ones, and then reinstall the unit together with them. After the buttons are connected, check the functionality of the entire system.
