Winter is a real test for cars: high humidity, low temperatures, road reagents - all this adversely affects the condition of the car, therefore, it needs special care in winter.
Instructions
Step 1
In the fight against ice in winter, utilities sprinkle roads with saline, which can corrode the car body. The most vulnerable places: scratches, chips, dents - where there was damage to the layers of paint and varnish. The metal in these places rusts and deforms very quickly. That is why cars in winter need to be covered with a special anti-corrosion compound. It is also advisable to get rid of body damage in advance so that they do not increase.
Step 2
Regular car wash is a care that will not only make the car look more attractive, but also remove salt deposits from the body. In winter, it is worth washing the car only at specialized car washes, where it is possible to dry the car well. Be sure to ask to blow the locks with a compressor, otherwise the moisture accumulated in them will freeze, and you will not be able to insert the key there.
Step 3
In general, freezing of locks is a common problem that arises not only after washing, but also after thaws with sudden cold snaps. This trouble can be prevented by using special solutions that are injected into the lock.
Step 4
Decreased battery capacity is another problem that motorists often face in winter. The result is that the battery does not have enough power to start the engine. Experts recommend recharging the battery with a special charger about once a month, and at temperatures below 20 ° C, put the car only in a heated garage or take the battery home.
Step 5
At the first frost, replace the water in the washer barrel with a special anti-freeze liquid. Select the liquid based on the air temperature. If the water is not drained in time, it will turn into ice and can ruin the windscreen washer system.
Step 6
In winter, caring for the car must be especially careful, this also applies to tires. Use only studded tires for winter riding: the studs cut into the ice for better grip. Check for thorns and their condition before each season. It is not recommended to use winter tires for more than three seasons: even if the tires themselves are still in good condition, the studs have probably lost some of their properties.
Step 7
If your car has air conditioning, you shouldn't forget about it in winter. Be sure to turn it on at least once every two to three weeks. During the operation of the air conditioner, it is also worth turning on the stove. This will extend the life of the rubber seals.
