ATVs are a very popular transport today. For the most part, it is intended for entertainment, not driving on the road. But still, the number of fans of such cars is growing every day. At the same time, not everyone knows what exactly ATVs are.
The ATV itself is a four-wheeled motorcycle, which, due to its cross-country ability in hard-to-reach areas, will plug any SUV in its belt. It should be borne in mind that to drive most of the models, you need to obtain a driver's license to drive a tractor.
The history of ATVs began in the 70s of the twentieth century. Honda has invented a similar vehicle. True, it was originally intended for agricultural work and had three wheels. But literally 10 years later, the ATV got one more wheel, and it became a four-wheeled one.
What are ATVs
There are quite a few types of modern ATVs. So, for example, one of them is a sports option. These cars have rear-wheel drive, shock-absorbing suspension. Such models are intended for racing at speeds over rough terrain. By design, they are quite original and aggressive.
Agricultural ATVs meet their original purpose. It is convenient to ride them. They are easy to operate where conventional cars, incl. and off-road vehicles can barely cope. These are most often used in summer cottages. In addition, they have roomy luggage racks, due to which you can not only drive to your garden area, but also bring cargo. These ATVs are called utility ATVs and are said to be used as a tractor when needed.
Touring ATVs are a more advanced model of agricultural options. This technique is designed for driving through windbreaks, forests, ravines, etc. Touring ATVs are more powerful and have four-wheel drive, due to which they have improved cross-country ability even in very difficult conditions.
Amphibious ATVs are all-terrain amphibious vehicles with 6-8 wheels. Their peculiarity is that the wheels work not only on land, but also in water. Such cars are controlled using a motorcycle steering wheel or tank levers located on the sides of the driver. When driving such a technique, it is necessary to take into account the fact that in some maneuvers the amphibian resembles a tank in control.
Naturally, the manufacturers could not ignore the children. Therefore, today the line of children's ATVs is quite widely represented. They are smaller and not as difficult to operate as adults. Despite this, these ATVs can easily cope with difficult road conditions.
What you need to consider
Remember that ATVs are divided into categories and by power. So, for example, those that have an engine less than 50 cc. cm and develop a speed of no more than 50 km / h, do not require registration with the traffic police departments. In the event that the engine volume is small, but the motor vehicles at the same time develop a speed above 50 km / h, the ATV will have to be registered with Rostekhnadzor. This is due to the fact that such machines belong to agricultural machinery, and the rights to it must be obtained from Rostekhnadzor. Moreover, the registration from the one that is carried out in the traffic police departments is no different. Those ATVs that have an engine over 50 cc. cm and develop speeds above 50 km / h, must be registered with the traffic police without fail. Naturally, those models that go through registration must also undergo technical inspection.
