To protect the contact group of the ignition lock from premature failure, it is necessary to install an additional relay in the on-board network of the machine, which will take on the entire load created when the starter is turned on.

Necessary

  • - relay for 4 contacts,
  • - three pieces of electrical wiring with terminals.

Instructions

Step 1

Malfunctions of this kind occur, as a rule, due to design flaws, but perhaps this is due to the desire to save money on products and reduce the cost of the car.

Step 2

In any case, the installation of an additional relay in the electrical network of the on-board circuit for starting the car's engine will not hurt anyone, and will help to avoid possible problems with the ignition switch in the future.

Step 3

When performing any work with electrical equipment, be sure to disconnect the battery.

Step 4

There are four contacts at the bottom of the relay: two of them are for the inductor; the other two are for relay contacts, which must be open when there is no voltage supply to the inductor.

Step 5

Attach the relay to the vehicle body in any accessible place. Then we connect the wires to the relay: the wire from the ignition switch to the starter retractor relay is reconnected to the "positive" terminal of the relay, designed to control its inductance coil.

Step 6

The "positive" terminal of the auxiliary relay contacts is powered by a thick red wire connected to the ignition switch. The second terminal of the relay contacts is connected to the previously reconnected terminal on the starter solenoid relay.
