If the rotary relay fails, malfunctions of the direction indicators are observed. Having such a malfunction in a vehicle, it is extremely dangerous to leave the garage. You can get out of the situation by removing the existing relay and replacing it with an electronic one.

Necessary

  • - screwdriver;
  • - wire (15-20cm);
  • - soldering iron;
  • - plastic clamp-tie;
  • - insulating tape.

Instructions

Step 1

Get rid of the existing faulty relay. First you need to remove the glove box. The next step is to unscrew the screws that secure the glove box bracket with a screwdriver.

Step 2

Now disconnect the electrical connector from the turn signal relay, unscrew the screws that secure the turn signal relay bracket. Then remove the old turn signal relay together with the bracket. After that, it is necessary to remove the turn relay from the bracket and proceed with the installation of the electronic relay, which is performed in the reverse order of removal.

Step 3

Remember, externally, in addition to the presence of a plastic case, the electronic relay differs from the "native" one by the presence of a fourth contact connected to the ground (body) of the car. To do this, you need to take a drive (it is recommended to give preference to black), the length of which is from 15 to 20 centimeters, and on one side solder the tip for connection together with the relay contact.

Step 4

Take the petal for the nut (the hole diameter is from 6, 5-7 millimeters, since it must be fastened to the place where the relay of the old one is fastened) from the other side, and then reconnect all available lugs with drives from the old relay to the new one.

Step 5

Since the electronic relay is distinguished by the presence of a plastic case, the thickness of the fastening bracket interferes with fixing it in its regular place. This is also facilitated by an additional petal from the fourth contact from the housing drive. For this reason, you need to come up with a method of fastening yourself. So, for example, you can fix it like this: by means of a plastic tie-clamp for fastening cables and wires. It keeps well, besides, for replacement it is not at all necessary to disassemble the entire panel.
