When the time comes to refuel the car, the driver is faced with many brands of gasoline. But the stable operation of the engine, its service life and gasoline consumption depend on the correct choice. That is why it is so important to fill the "correct" fuel.

Every day the number of cars on the Russian roads is increasing, which requires high-quality fuel to refuel. And at the same time, manufacturers clearly "keep pace" with market requirements: fuel companies offer various options for gasoline, from the simplest formulations to premium class. It remains only to figure out which gasoline is best to fill your iron "friend". Fuel quality is directly related to such important operating parameters as engine power, efficiency, and service life. Refueling with the "wrong" gasoline can lead to serious malfunctions of the engine and even its failure, and there is no need to talk about how much it costs to repair the engine of a car belonging to a foreign brand.

Gasoline and its varieties

Most car owners have probably come across a large selection of fuel at gas stations. But at almost any gas station there will be a minimum "set": 92nd, 95th, 98th. In the West, you will not see such brands, there are other designations: Regular, Premium, Syper (respectively). In addition to these standard grades, many gas stations offer their own "branded" type of fuel. Most often it is a regular 92nd with many additives. Manufacturers advertise their product in good faith, assuring that by purchasing it, you will achieve reduced fuel consumption and increased power. Oddly enough, the laws of physics are difficult to deceive. The higher the power, the greater the flow.

European countries also have their own brands of fuel. However, in comparison with the Russian ones, there is a fundamental difference in the production of gasoline. If in Russia the octane number is most often increased by adding various additives, then in Europe the quality is improved through repeated distillation. Moreover, the use of gasoline with additives is officially prohibited in the USA and Canada. Careful research has shown that additives (especially those involving lead) are detrimental to engine systems; sediment is formed on the elements of the fuel path, injector, oxygen sensors.

AI-92 or AI-95

Today, there are enough cars produced that require premium gasoline to refuel. However, if it happened that the 92nd got into the tank, nothing special will happen, perhaps detonation will appear, the power will slightly decrease. Some car owners even prefer to refuel with 92nd gasoline, citing the absence of lead-containing additives in it. Nevertheless, the type of fuel that is indicated in the instructions should be poured into the tank: everything here depends on the conscientiousness of the owners of a particular gas station. Therefore, buy gasoline at a gas station, where you refuel constantly, and you do not have problems with the engine.
