Replacing the ignition lock in VAZ cars of the "classic line" will not be particularly difficult even for owners who do not have extensive experience in car repair. All that is required to replace the lock is two regular and curly screwdrivers.

Instructions
Step 1
At the first stage, the decorative plastic linings located on the steering column are dismantled. By unscrewing all the fastening screws located at the bottom with a screwdriver, the pads can be easily removed.
Step 2
Next, you need to disconnect the electrical wiring connected to the bottom of the ignition lock, and turn the key in the lock so that it takes a horizontal position. Then, using a screwdriver, you unscrew the two screws securing the lock to the metal casing welded to the steering column.
Step 3
Then, on the side surface of the lock casing, using a flat-blade screwdriver, through the oblong hole, the lock retainer pin is recessed, after which the ignition lock is removed from its regular place.
Step 4
Installing a new ignition switch is performed in reverse order.
