When crossing intersections with tram lines, it is necessary to remember the basic traffic rules established for this case. In addition, it is important to take the correct position on the carriageway, which can be located directly on the tram tracks.

When crossing tram lines at an intersection that is regulated by traffic lights, clause 13.6 of the traffic rules applies. In most cases, the priority of rail vehicles (trams) applies at such intersections.
There is only one exception to this rule: when the tram turns under the green arrow included in the additional section, at the same time as the red or yellow signal. Then the advantage goes to the car drivers.
If the car and the tram are moving from different directions, drivers cannot understand whether the tram is going to the green arrow in the additional section or to the usual green signal.
The driver should remember to always give way to the tram that has started moving.
An unequal intersection with tram tracks
Unregulated unequal intersections and traffic rules on them are described in several traffic rules.
If the action takes place at an intersection of unequal roads, and the driver of a vehicle is moving on a secondary road, he must give way to vehicles that are approaching along the main road. At the same time, the tram has an advantage over a trackless vehicle that moves in the same or opposite direction, regardless of the direction of its movement.
If the main road at an intersection changes direction, drivers on the main road must follow the rules for equivalent roads, just like drivers on secondary roads.
Both tram drivers and owners of roadless vehicles must give way to vehicles on the right. At crossroads of equivalent roads, the tram has an advantage over a trackless vehicle, regardless of the direction of its movement.
If a roundabout is organized at an intersection, the driver of the vehicle must give way to vehicles moving along this intersection.
Movement at an equivalent intersection with tram tracks
If the passage is carried out at unregulated, equivalent intersections with tram lines, slightly different rules apply. The driver of a roadless vehicle always gives way to vehicles on the right. Tram drivers do the same with each other. But the tram still has the upper hand.
If you enter an intersection with a roundabout, priority is given to vehicles that follow this intersection.
