Step 1
First of all, of course, wheel alignment is necessary for seasonal tire replacement, repair of the car's chassis, steering system, suspension and in the post-accident period. Secondly, it is necessary to undergo this procedure regularly when: 10-15 thousand kilometers pass; tires wear out too quickly and unevenly; the clearance changes; the car leads to the side when it enters a hole or when driving in a straight line; the car does not hold the road well.

It is best to adjust wheel alignment in a car service, especially if you are an inexperienced driver. They have special stands where you can quickly check the condition of your wheels.

And experienced drivers often take up the adjustment business themselves. To do this, the car is placed on an overpass or pit - the wheels must look straight. The distance between the rims of the discs is measured with a tape measure or ruler. An important condition for performing this procedure is that the discs are not deformed and remain level. Measurements are made both at the rear and at the front of the wheel disc only in the horizontal plane. First you need to measure one wheel and record the received data, then the second. If there is a difference in the marks, then the wheel alignment procedure is vital for the car.

Before starting the repair, you need to unscrew the locknut of one of the steering rods of the machine. Then, by shortening or lengthening it, the wheels are set in the desired position. In this case, it is necessary to observe equal values of the length of the steering rods - they must be the same. If the indicators do not match, they need to be leveled and only then tighten the nuts.
