Ignoring traffic rules is an administrative offense. The deadline for paying a fine for violation of traffic rules is regulated by article 32.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. Failure to pay the issued fine will be punished.
How long does it take to pay the traffic police fine
After issuing a fine by the traffic police inspector, the motorist has ten days to appeal this decision. Ten days after the imposition of the fine, the punishment will come into force. The penalty must be paid no later than 60 days after the entry into force of the penalty.
If, after 90 days after the issuance of the order, the traffic police do not find confirmation of the payment of the fine, the materials of the administrative case will be sent to the bailiffs. They are obliged to enforce the unpaid fine.
Do not rush to throw away the payment receipt, because the traffic police, due to various kinds of technical overlays, quite often require drivers to pay the fine again. There have already been such precedents. In this situation, the receipt will be proof of the absence of debt.
What punishment awaits for non-payment of the fine
In the event that the fine is not paid, the offender will be sanctioned. In particular, it can be:
- not to be released abroad;
- arrest for 15 days;
- to force to pay the issued fine in double amount (but not less than 1000 rubles);
- engage in compulsory work for 50 hours.
What is the limitation period for collecting a fine
The collection of fines also has a limitation period. It is two years from the date of entry into force of the offense order.
