Spark plugs are pretty important parts in a car. If you want to move around in your vehicle without problems, then the spark plugs must be changed periodically after passing a distance of 40 thousand km. However, there are cases in which it is necessary to replace the candle much earlier than this period. A problem that occurs quite often is a broken candle that needs to be replaced.
Instructions
Step 1
If your car spark plug is broken or expired, proceed with the replacement process. First, clear the visible area of the candle from the casing. Then disconnect all contacts from the igniter. Do this carefully, there should be no sudden movements. Next, clean the location of the candle with a special compressor with a small tube or any other device that blows air. Try to do this as carefully as possible. Usually the socket of the candle is heavily contaminated with various debris and dust.
Step 2
Then use a torque wrench to adjust the applied force. Any other key will not work, it will not allow the candle to enter the well if it is broken. All candles have a turnkey hexagon. It is located approximately in the middle. Breakage of the spark plug occurs in the upper part of the igniter, which is a ribbed insulator with a contact rod and a contact (plug) nut inside.
Step 3
Now you should put the key on the part of the candle that has remained intact. Begin to turn the key with smooth, unhurried movements. Install the head, knob and extension clearly along the axis of the candle. Continue doing this smoothly and effortlessly. There is no need to try to achieve the result by force, this is fraught with consequences such as breaking the thread in the engine head, in which case it will have to be repaired as well.
Step 4
Be sure to listen to the sounds that come out when you unscrew the candle. If a grinding sound is heard, it means that everything is in order, the candle is removed. If you made a slight turn, but the resistance has decreased, then the metal has melted, and rotation by another 15-20˚ will lead to the breakdown of the thread.
Step 5
Then pour solvent into the spark plug socket, it flushes the threads and facilitates further unscrewing. Wait a little and continue to unscrew the candle with smooth movements until it is completely removed.
