If your car starts to start poorly, or if you feel the engine is running roughly at idle, the problem may be with the spark plugs. Despite the fact that spark plugs are recommended to be changed every 30 - 45 thousand km, low-quality spark plugs can fail much earlier. If you notice interruptions in your car, try checking the spark plugs.
Instructions
Step 1
In order to check the condition of the spark plugs and determine if they need to be replaced, you first need to unscrew them from the engine block. This can be done using a special candle wrench.
Step 2
To check the candles for performance, you can use a diagnostic tester, a stand with a pressure chamber or a piezoelectric probe. But such devices are available only in auto repair shops, so in "field" conditions, you can use a pre-made tool.
Step 3
The simplest piezoelectric spark probe can be made with a piezo lighter. To do this, disassemble the lighter and remove the piezoelectric unit from it. Extend the wire coming from the block so that the total length of the wire is 10-15 cm. The device is ready.
Step 4
Now you can check each candle. Do this with the piezo probe you made. To do this, connect the wire to the upper contact of the candle, and attach the piezoelectric block itself to the body of the candle. Press the button on the block. A clear spark will appear on a fully working candle between the contacts.
