If, while the VAZ 2106 car is operating, the battery charge indicator is constantly on on its instrument panel, it is imperative to conduct an initial check of the car generator. If during such a check a general malfunction of the generator is revealed, it must be removed for a more accurate check and subsequent repair. In view of this, the owner of a VAZ 2106 car must be able to remove the generator and then connect it correctly.
Necessary
- - generator;
- - bolts;
- - keys;
- - screws;
- - washers;
- - voltmeter.
Instructions
Step 1
Installation of a car generator, as well as its removal, is carried out on a lift or in an inspection pit. Place the new alternator in the designated location (near the engine) and secure it in place with the bolt and washer. Then put on the lower generator mounting nut.
Step 2
Put on two wires from the terminal "30": wire 1, coming from the plug of the central output of the stator winding, and wire 2, coming out of the output of the brush holder "67". Be careful not to confuse these wires! A distinctive feature of wire 1 and terminal "67" is the absence of insulating pads.
Step 3
Attach the nut of the wires to the terminal of the automobile generator and put a rubber protective cap on top of terminal "30". After that, screw on the nut, with which the generator is fixed to the tension bar.
Step 4
Put the alternator belt first on the crankshaft, then on the alternator pulley and only then on the pump pulley. Then tighten the fastening of the generator to the tension bar located in the engine compartment.
Step 5
Install the mudguard and secure it by tightening the 12 fixing screws. That's it: the generator is installed in its rightful place.
Step 6
After installing the generator, check it. Although there are three ways to check the generator's performance (on a car, using an oscilloscope, and also on a bench), checking the generator on a car is considered the most acceptable at home.
Step 7
Start the engine, at an engine speed of 2500-3000 rpm and a full battery charge, measure the voltage at the battery terminals. If the result is more or less than the normal value (14 volts), then the problem most likely lies in the voltage relay. If, after replacing the relay, the voltage indicator deviates from the norm, the generator installed on the car needs repair.
