There are 4 types of car interior acoustic design - strip, closed, bass reflex enclosure and endless acoustic baffle. They all have their own characteristics and are specific for installation.
Instructions
Step 1
The stripe body is more suitable for sedan cars. A closed enclosure assumes the placement of a subwoofer in a certain closed volume from 15 to 30 liters, unlike, for example, a free-air installation. It is not necessary to comply with strict requirements for the isolation of the luggage compartment. The bass reflex case provides a higher sound pressure, so the ports should be located closer to the woofer. In general, this option is almost the same as a closed case.
Step 2
The infinite acoustic baffle, although easy to install, has a number of features. For it, special low-frequency heads have been developed, in addition, complete isolation of the trunk from the passenger compartment is required. The installation of the system is the installation of the head unit in a regular place, the manufacture of podiums for the speakers, the placement of the subwoofer and amplifier. First, lay the power wires from the engine compartment. The wire cross-section must correspond to the total power of the amplifier and the head unit.
Step 3
Insert a plastic or rubber tube into the technological holes through which the cables pass so that there is no short circuit to ground. Connect the positive wire through the flask with a fuse, and place the flask itself 30 cm from the battery. Connect the wires brought into the passenger compartment through the power distributor to the head units and to the amplifier. Then you need to solder the power wires to the head unit wiring harness. Lead the "+" wire through the plug fuse, and clean the soldering area with a heat-shrinkable cambric. After that, connect the block to the head unit, interconnect cables - to the line outputs of the head unit and install according to the instructions in a regular place. Crimp the ends of the power wire going to the amplifier with terminals.
Step 4
For the manufacture of the podium, it is better to use 10-12 mm plywood. Saw out the blanks of the desired shape and firmly attach them to the door trim. Then make a mounting ring with an inner diameter equal to the diameter of the rubber suspension of the speaker and fill the resulting structure with polyurethane foam. After the foam dries, use a knife to give the workpiece the desired shape and glue it over with epoxy-impregnated fiberglass for strength.
