If too much paint is applied to the surface of the car body, it may drip. The varnish must be applied in an amount that can hold the coating itself. And of course, you should not apply the varnish in one dense layer, as this also contributes to the formation of drips, but otherwise, the paint will lie unevenly.
How to reduce the risk of dripping?
The first thing to remember is that the distance between the spray gun and the painting surface should be between 25 and 30 cm. Painting should take place in three stages, in three layers. After applying each layer, you should wait 15-20 minutes for the paint to set and dry. It is necessary to paint only in good full lighting (preferably on a sunny day outside, at a temperature of at least 15 degrees). After painting, it is worth revising the body several times, checking it for glare. This makes it possible to understand when the paint has already set and does not take on a glossy image. As soon as the body becomes like this, it is worth stopping further application of painted or varnished materials. If the car was painted in winter, then it needs hot drying. But it is not worth carrying it out immediately after painting. Wait a day until the paint dries a little. Only the next day, you can safely send the car for drying.
But what if the drips have already appeared?
If streaks have formed on the surface, then they must first be dried. It is necessary to dry longer, since the drips are thicker than the main layer, and accordingly the paint is soft and dries longer. You can use the heater here. After the varnish is dry, you can test it by applying pressure with your fingernail, if the paint is still soft, continue drying. If the paint is dry, you can sand the area. Apply a special sanding spray to the stains. Then just start sanding the area with sandpaper (the grain should be no more than 1200). Sand until the streaks are worn away. When the surface acquires a smooth and matte appearance, it is necessary to polish the area. To do this, you need a buffing wheel and a polishing paste. After you've polished the surface, go over it with your hand. If it is smooth and without roughness, then you can paint it, but do it carefully.
