In this era of front-wheel drive vehicles, the issue of correct front wheel replacement is becoming more and more urgent. And if you do not want to get into an unpredictable road situation, then this should be taken care of in advance, at the first signs of wheel wear.
Necessary
- - jack;
- - a set of wrenches with attachments.
Instructions
Step 1
Park the vehicle on a level surface with no noticeable inclines. Put the car on the parking (hand) brake. Roll up the replacement wheel.
Step 2
Loosen the wheel nuts. Very often this requires a significant effort, up to the application of the weight of your own body to the key lever.
Step 3
Place a hydraulic or mechanical jack in a secure location close to the wheel to be replaced and raise the vehicle until the wheel is off the ground.
Step 4
Replace the wheel. When replacing a wheel, you should remember a few useful rules: - it is impractical to change the direction of movement of tires - their running-in in a new position causes increased wear of the rubber, and if the pattern on them is "directed", then this is generally not allowed;
- in case of significant wear, it is advisable to change the front wheel to a less worn rear wheel;
- try not to damage the lacquer coating of the discs - it is not restored;
Step 5
Tighten the nuts and remove the jack. Tighten the nuts through one, in a circle. Check the pressure in the wheel and the angle of its installation.
