Power steering (Power Steering) is a part of the steering mechanism that makes driving a car easier, while maintaining stability and driving stability. In the event of a malfunction, it must be removed.
Instructions
Step 1
Using a wrench, loosen the belt tension by first unscrewing the lock nut. After that, using the adjusting screw, carefully lower the power steering and remove the belt. Take the key "17" in your hands and unscrew the bolt that secures the high pressure hose. Disconnect the hose, being careful not to lose the copper washers and the bolt itself.
Step 2
Substitute a small container and discard the liquid. This procedure can be done in advance. If there are no suitable containers, then put unnecessary newspapers under the bottom of the car - the liquid will drain onto them. Then, using pliers or a hex wrench, remove the tube on which the low pressure hose is located. Look carefully at the ring that is on the tube - if there are defects, you need to replace it.
Step 3
On the front of the power steering there is a sensor with a plug, which must be carefully removed. After that, unscrew the bolt that directly attaches the power steering itself and the lock nut, which is responsible for tension. Detach the side rails that attach to the amplifier and place it in a convenient location.
Step 4
Check the power steering for visible defects. After fixing all the problems, you need to put it back. To do this, put the hydraulic booster in place and put on the belt, fix it and the optimal tension. Connect a tube with a low pressure hose, and then install the plug on the sensor. When tightening the high pressure hose bolt, be sure to include the two copper gaskets.
Step 5
Pour special fluid into the tank. Be careful not to overflow the maximum mark. Sit in the car and use the steering wheel to move the wheels in all directions for a few minutes. Then check the fluid level and top up if necessary.
