If you want to buy a used car, pay attention to the ads of Belarusian Internet publications and specialized portals. Prices for cars there are much lower than Russian ones due to low customs duties when importing cars to Belarus from other countries. If you have already decided on the desired brand of car, contact the seller and ask him about all your questions before going to Belarus.
Step 2
It should be noted that the absence of the need to pay customs duties when imported into Russia applies only to cars cleared by customs in Belarus before January 1, 2010. If the car was imported later, then it will no longer be possible to save money on its purchase. Be sure to check with the seller in advance and take a certificate confirming the fact of importing the car before the specified date at the customs office of Belarus.

It should also be noted that the absence of customs duties applies only to cars that meet the Euro 4 environmental standard. In Russia, it is not yet mandatory, but it already applies to Belarusian cars. Therefore, in order to drive a car from Belarus and save money at the same time, be sure to check the car for compliance with this norm in order to avoid possible problems. The conformity of the car can be checked at the certification center, where you can also get a certificate confirming compliance.

Next, be sure to draw up a contract for the sale of the car, make sure that the former owner took the car off the register in Belarus and be sure to mark the entry to Russia at the customs. After that, go to the customs office at the place of registration and write an application for a passport for a vehicle imported into Russia.
Step 5
Be sure to check the availability and correct execution of all documents confirming the purchase of a vehicle in Belarus. They are required to obtain PTS. This is a purchase and sale agreement, a certificate on the import of a car into the territory of Belarus before January 1, 2010, a certificate of compliance with the economic standard Euro 4, transit numbers and a customs mark on the import of this car into Russia. After receiving the PTS, register the car with the traffic police at your place of residence and enjoy a comfortable ride.
