An iron garage is a great option for those planning to place it near their home. In an iron garage, the car is reliably protected from the effects of atmospheric precipitation, while it is lightweight, it can be quickly mounted or, on the contrary, disassembled.

It is necessary

  • 1. Metal pipes for the base,
  • 2. profile 40x40 mm,
  • 3.welding machine,
  • 4.sander,
  • 5. metal sheets,
  • 6.concrete,
  • 7. self-tapping screws,
  • 8. screwdriver,
  • 9.level.

Instructions

Step 1

Calculate the dimensions of the future garage and mark them on the site. The minimum width of the garage should be 2, 3 meters, and the length - 5 meters, but if possible, it is better to build an iron garage more spacious, a small garage is inconvenient to use.

Step 2

Dig holes 1 meter deep around the perimeter of the garage and in them you will install metal pillars - the basis of the design of the future garage. The pillars should be spaced from each other at a distance of 1 - 1, 5 meters. Knead the concrete for pouring the pillars, install the pillars in the pits, level them vertically with a level, pour concrete to the ground. The pillars need to be taken of such a height so that you can subsequently put a roof on them at the slope you need.

Step 3

Wait for the concrete around the posts to harden, at least 2 weeks, and start welding the structure for the garage. To do this, take a 40x40 mm metal profile, cut it with a grinder into pieces of the required length. You need to weld the profile to the posts at a distance of 0.5 meters horizontally, leveling its location using a level. After all the profiles are welded to the walls, mount the roof frame in the same way. At the front, weld the base for the gate from a metal corner or install a ready-made one, install the leaves, to which the inner lock and hinges for the outer lock are welded. You can use an internal lock - the main thing is to foresee it in advance and weld it to the gate leaves in advance, before attaching metal to them.

Step 4

After the entire garage frame is ready, proceed to fastening the metal sheets. For the construction of an iron garage, you can use metal with a thickness of 0.5 mm, galvanized or not. The metal is fastened with self-tapping screws with rubber gaskets, which ensure a snug fit of the self-tapping screw head to the sheet and prevent moisture from entering the hole. For fastening screws, use a screwdriver with a suitable attachment.

Step 5

After the garage is ready, it remains to think about what kind of floor will be inside it. You can leave it earthen or concreted.
