Car enthusiasts who decide to change the color of their car are often interested in the question of how to arrange all this and how in general it is possible to change the color of a car. There are two ways: to cover the car with a special film or to repaint it. Not only the speed, reversibility and quality of changes depend on this, but also the execution of documents. You can easily change the color of the car by following the steps below.

Step 1
Consider the way you will change the color of your car. If you want to quickly and inexpensively change the color of a car for a while, and then remove the film, then cover it with a special film. The color of the film will not be the main color of the car even at 100% coverage, so do not worry about changing documents - nothing needs to be formalized.
Step 2
If you decide to paint your car, consider the design first. Please note that if more than 60% of the native color remains during repainting, then there is no need to reissue the documents either.
Step 3
Inexpensive car for trips outside the city, try to paint it yourself. To do this, wash the car, inspect all defective areas, clean them to metal, cover with putty. After the surface is dry, clean and sand the places that were putty. Cover all areas that cannot be painted with masking tape and paint the car with special paint.

Contact the REO of the traffic police at the place of registration of the car (and not the owner). Bring your passport, vehicle passport (PTS) and vehicle registration certificate with you.

Go to the window for registration of documents, fill out an application (the same as for registration or deregistration) and indicate in it the reason: color change.
Step 9
Proceed to the site for the traffic police to inspect the car and verify the numbers. Pay for all the necessary receipts for the production of forms and receive a new vehicle registration certificate, as well as Title. Carefully check the correctness of filling in all documents.
Step 10
Change the insurance certificate, as it contains the TCP number. This should be done free of charge by your insurance company.
