After the entry into force of the new procedure for registering the vehicle, it became possible to sell the car without deregistering it. Thus, owners can retain their license plates. Additional opportunities brought with them some difficulties. Now, with any changes that have occurred to the car, it is necessary to enter new data into the current vehicle passport.

- - application of the established form;
- - a receipt for payment of the state duty PTS;
- - additional documents upon request.
Instructions
Step 1
Changing units with installed license plates will entail the following actions. When faced with a replacement chassis, body or engine, contact the traffic police. Apply for an inspector inspection of your vehicle. Pay the receipt. After inspecting the car, you will receive a new registration certificate, make the necessary corrections in the vehicle registration system with the introduction of a modified license plate of one or another unit.
Step 2
When changing the color of the body, write a statement of the established form. If the car is not on the move, inform the traffic police officer that you need to undergo an inspection at the location of the car. After drawing up the inspection report, the corresponding information about the color change of the car will be entered in the TCP. Pay the receipt for the issuance of the vehicle registration certificate.
Step 3
If you need to make drastic changes in the car (replacing the engine with an engine of higher power, changing the body to a non-identical one), contact the traffic police at the place of registration of the vehicle. Submit an application for making changes to the car and to the technical device passport.
Step 4
After consideration of the application, the inspector may decide to appoint an independent examination for the assessment. If the decision is positive, contact a specialized service that is licensed to perform such work. Upon completion of the modernization, write a statement about the passage of the vehicle inspection by an inspector. After the inspection, you will be issued a new registration certificate and changes will be made to the vehicle's passport.
