The technology for changing antifreeze - coolant - in a Nissan car is quite simple. Through the drain holes located in the radiator and engine, the old fluid is completely drained and a new one is poured in its place.

It is necessary

Phillips screwdriver, bucket, funnel, water, antifreeze

Instructions

Step 1

Position the car on an overpass.

Step 2

Drain the antifreeze from the radiator. To do this, unscrew the plastic plug located on the radiator using a Phillips screwdriver.

Step 3

Place a bucket under the radiator and let the liquid in. To make it drain better, you should also remove the cap from the radiator filler hole before unscrewing the drain plug. Be careful, however, as hot antifreeze may spray out from under the cover.

Step 4

Pay attention to the fact that after the actions taken, some liquid remains in the engine. This residue can be drained through a hole located on the engine itself in all Nissan models.

Step 5

Pour flush water into the upper thick hose that runs from the radiator to the engine. Gradually, in small portions, pass about ten liters in total through the hose. Until all the coolant has flowed out of the engine, the water will have the color of antifreeze. Flush the engine until it becomes transparent.

Step 6

Pour in distilled water, its volume should be about one and a half liters. Flush the engine in a tried and tested manner. Pour about a liter of ready-made antifreeze there and drive it along the entire path until it drains from the drain hole.

Step 7

Empty the expansion tank from the remains of the used antifreeze. Drain the coolant through the hose that connects the reservoir to the radiator filler neck.

Step 8

Pour water into the tank in the same way, after all the antifreeze has drained out. Let it out through the hose. After completing the process, replace the hose.

Step 9

Refill the entire system with new antifreeze. Pour antifreeze into the engine first. In cars of the Nissan brand, it will fit about three liters.

Step 10

Pour coolant into the filler hole of the radiator, after unscrewing the drain bolt, which serves to release excess air. In Nissan, it sits at the very top of the system. Note that this Japanese brand, unlike the others, does not need to remove the decorative cover from the engine to open the drain.
