When purchasing a new battery, check the manufacturing date. Six months for a given energy block is the age limit. Feel free to rip the packaging off the new battery and check the integrity of the case. If any defects are found, request to replace the battery.
It is necessary
- voltmeter
- Charger
- hydrometer
Instructions
Step 1
Among the priority tasks is checking the voltage at the battery terminals, which should be at least 10.8 volts. If less, then such a battery is considered unusable and, as a rule, cannot be restored.
Step 2
In the event that the voltage is within 12 volts, for greater confidence, the density of the electrolyte in each jar is checked with a hydrometer. It should be everywhere equal to 1, 27 units. If it is less, and the unit for reducing the density of the electrolyte indicates a six percent discharge of the battery, then in this case the battery must be recharged in order to bring the density of the contents in each jar to normal.
Step 3
When all the parameters - in terms of voltage and density of the electrolyte, the acid storage battery - are maintained, it can be installed in the car without hesitation. Such a battery must last at least four to five years.
