If your car broke down and parked in the yard forever, got into an accident and cannot be repaired, or you simply do not need it, there are several ways to dispose of old vehicles. And some can bring a small profit, saving you from having to take your car to a landfill yourself.

Step 1
The easiest way to return your old car is to use the services of a car recycling company. Some of them offer to do it for free, but this may only apply to those cars that are located within the city. To begin with, you need to remove the car from the registration register with the traffic police. Deregistering for recycling means that you do not need to present your vehicle to an inspector. After all the procedures have been successfully completed, you call a specialist from the recycling company, who will take care of the removal of the old car. At the end, you will receive a recycling certificate.
Step 2
The second way is to rent the car for scrap. To do this, you also need to remove the car from the register at the place of registration. The difference from the first method is that you can get money for the pile of metal that your iron horse has turned into. It is up to you to resort to the help of intermediary firms or to hand over the old car for scrap yourself (in the latter case, the profit can be much higher). If you do not have the time and desire to take care of the car yourself, contact a specialized company. To make sure of its conscientiousness, to make sure that your car gets into the metal rolling, and will not be resold for parts, ask for a license.
Step 3
The third option is to sell the car to a car buying firm. In this case, to deregister from the traffic police, you will need a car. If the car is not on the move, you will need a vehicle inspection certificate, which you can get from the MREO traffic police at the location of the car. Please note that the vehicle inspection report is valid for 20 days.
Step 4
As for the government's program for the utilization of old cars with the possibility of obtaining a discount on the purchase of a new vehicle, according to the analytical agency "Autostat" dated June 23, 2011, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia has completed the issuance of certificates for utilization. It is not yet known whether this program will be extended.
