VIN is a unique number of the car that is assigned to it when it is released from the conveyor. As a rule, these are seventeen characters, which are a combination of numbers and Latin letters. This code contains a lot of useful and important information about the car, in particular, a list of its options, year of manufacture, and also whether it is listed in theft. To shed light on the past of your "iron horse", you must first find this very VIN-code.
It is necessary
- - insurance policy;
- - TCP;
- - registration certificate;
- - MOT coupon.
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, you should look at the documents for the car. The VIN code can be found in several documents at once: in the vehicle registration certificate, in the technical passport (PTS), in the insurance policy. In addition, recently they began to indicate it in the technical inspection coupon.
Step 2
If the documents are in doubt or you simply do not have access to them, you can find the VIN directly on the car. As a rule, it is placed in several places at once. Most modern vehicles have it on the dashboard. Examine its upper left part carefully. To do this, it is better to get out of the car and look through the windshield at the place between the torpedo and the hood.
Step 3
The VIN can be located at the bottom of the driver's door arch. To see the code plate, you have to open this door. In addition, it can be located directly on the door - at the bottom of the end. On some cars, the code plate can be found under the hood. To do this, you just need to lift it and carefully examine the inner panel or the left side of the engine compartment.
Step 4
Different automakers may have VIN stamped in other places as well. If you have a Daewoo car, look between the front passenger seat and the inside of the vehicle sill. This is where the plate with the embossed code should be located. Sometimes it can be hidden by the carpet.
Step 5
In German cars, the code plate should be found in the engine compartment, just above the radiator reservoir. In addition, it can be located on the partition that separates the passenger compartment and the engine compartment, as well as on the side member of the right rear wheel frame.
Step 6
In Korean cars, for example, in the Hyundai Accent, the code is duplicated in the luggage compartment. To find it, lift the bunk and look around the spare wheel.
