New batteries from the store sometimes also need to be recharged. They were charged, of course. But if the battery has stood on a shelf or in storerooms for a long time, it has already lost the required capacity.
It is necessary
dc charger
Instructions
Step 1
Be sure to check the release date, the date when the battery was charged. Although the warranty period of the battery is calculated from the date of sale, remember that over a period of more than 6 months without operation, the battery will unconditionally lose its specified capacity.
Try to get a fresher battery.
Feel free to check the integrity of the case by removing, if necessary, obstructing labels in suspicious places.
Step 2
If, nevertheless, it turned out that you became the owner of a "dead" battery, then it must be charged to optimal values. This will extend the battery life.
Charging a new battery is essentially the same as usual.
Do not only force (accelerate) charge a new battery. This will inevitably shorten the life of any battery.
Step 3
Connect the battery to the DC charger, observing the polarity.
If the battery is out of the serviceable category, remove the caps of the cans.
For acid batteries, the current applied to the terminals must be 0.1 of the nominal capacity.
Let's say you have a battery-55 A. Put on the charger a charging current of 5.5 A and turn on the device.
Charging must be monitored constantly.
Step 4
When constant gas evolution begins and the voltage on the battery reaches 14.4 V, reduce the charging current to 1.75 A.
In the event of a new abundant gas evolution, reduce the current strength by half.
Step 5
When the battery voltage reaches 16.3 - 16.4 V, complete the procedure.
And if the current and voltage are kept constant for an hour or two, your battery is fully charged.
