Security functions in modern alarm systems are gradually fading into the background. The standard block of the system houses the control circuit for almost all vehicle systems. If three decades ago, the security system was a siren that turned on when the doors or trunk were opened, today it is also a mass of the latest developments that make the driver's life easier. But what functions should an alarm have? We will try to consider them in more detail.

The main nodes of the car alarm

So, any car security system should signal an attempt to enter the interior, trunk, under the hood. As before, body-mounted limit switches are now used. When the door is closed, the contacts are opened and the alarm is transferred to the armed mode. When the contacts are closed, voltage is supplied to the central alarm unit, which triggers the siren.

The second unit, which has already become a classic, is installed on the body of the car. This is a shock sensor. In the simplest case, this is a design very similar to a magnetic head, which is installed on dial testers. Only a weight is attached to the arrow, which forces it to be in a certain position. When hitting a wheel or body, the weight is displaced. The resistance of the coil that sits on top of the magnetic head changes. By changing the resistance, the alert is turned on.

The simplest design of the alarm also includes the control of the central lock. The central unit has two wires that connect to the central locking control unit. When arming, voltage is applied through the wire responsible for locking the locks. And when disarming, the voltage arises on the second wire.

What else should be in the alarm?

Low-cost alarms are very simple, the key fobs on them have only two or three buttons. The alarm is much more informative, the key fob of which has an LCD display. Feedback is usually found in such models. What is it for? Imagine that cats are constantly jumping on your car at night. And from each such jump, a siren is triggered, which does not allow the whole house to sleep. It will be much better if the siren does not go off, but the key fob rings. Of course, afterwards it is better to set up the shock sensor so that it does not react to every breath of breeze.

Autostart will be very useful in the winter season. While you are going to work, you can start the car. Moreover, disarming does not occur, when you come to the car, then open it. In other words, no one will get into it without your knowledge. The presence of a volume sensor is provided for by some alarm models. It will be useful when you often leave windows open. But if you took care of the glass closers, then you have nothing to fear.
