Lada Largus is a new domestically produced station wagon developed by AvtoVAZ together with the Renault-Nissan alliance. For the first time this car was presented in 2010, and the start of its mass sales is planned for the end of 2012.
The appearance of Lada Largus is relatively simple. This is how a Russian-made working car should look like. The body of Lada Largus is replete with right angles and straight lines. The interior decoration, fortunately, immediately interrupts the first impression. The driver's seat is equipped with lumbar support adjustment. The steering wheel can be adjusted to suit almost any driver thanks to the vertical adjustment.
An interesting feature is observed in the second row of seats: the seat belt buckles are recessed into the side walls of the seats. The third row seats are located directly above the wheels. This creates some discomfort for passengers when driving on uneven roads. Fortunately, the body features allow taller people to feel comfortable enough even in the third row.
The length of the car is 4 m 47 cm, and the width is 1.75 m. Lada Largus cars will be equipped with engines of two types. In the first case, the buyer will receive an 8-valve engine with a volume of 1.6 liters. The more powerful power unit is equipped with 16 valves and has an identical volume.
The maximum power will be 5500 and 5750 kW, respectively. Both types of vehicles will be front-wheel drive and comply with the Euro-4 exhaust emission standard.
There are three main types of Lada Largus and 9 different configurations. ABS is absent only in the standard configuration of the 5-seater model and the van. In luxury assemblies, side airbags can be installed. At the same time, they initially contain a cushion for the front passenger.
Also in the luxury models there is an information LCD display of the on-board computer, a height-adjustable driver's seat, heated seats (front only). The air conditioner is originally built only in the 7-seat luxury model with the SOP2 engine.
It is important to note that the possibility of vertical adjustment of the steering column is present in absolutely all models, and glass tinting is absent only in the "Standard" trim levels.
