If once, when starting, the starter "refuses" to turn the engine in good condition with a good charged battery, then, most likely, the reason for this lies in the starter itself. More precisely - in the malfunction of the traction relay or brushes.
Necessary
- - screwdriver;
- - wires with low resistance;
- - vise and indicator light for 12 V.
Instructions
Step 1
Start by removing the starter. Then carefully fix it in the prepared vice. Then the two wires should be connected to the lower terminal and to the starter housing, and then connected to the battery terminals. A good starter will start working immediately. In this case, you need to check the traction relay, and in case of a malfunction, it should be replaced.
Step 2
It is possible that the starter will not rotate. The reason for this must be sought in the windings and brushes. To establish an accurate "diagnosis", lift the uninsulated brushes, disconnect the lead of the shunt coil from the uninsulated brush holder, then, after unscrewing the fastening screws, remove the insulated brush holders.
Step 3
Next, connect to the starter housing and to the wire winding outlet from the indicator light. Do not forget that the starter motor must be connected to the battery at this moment. With a working, undamaged winding, the light will light up.
Step 4
The anchor is checked for inter-turn closure at a special stand. Diagnostics can be skipped if, when dismantling and disassembling the starter, you smell burnt insulation. In this case, there is only one way out - replacing the starter. But let's say the windings are intact. Then check the starter brushes using the same indicator foot, connecting it to the insulated brush holder and ground. Defective parts must be replaced.
Step 5
If the included starter is not able to crank the engine, the bendix is most likely to blame. It must be replaced with a new one. With difficulty scrolling starter, dimming lamps on the dashboard means that it "takes over". In this case, you should check the contacts and battery voltage. If everything turned out to be in good order, then remove and disassemble the starter. If the problem is too much friction, change the bushings. It is also possible that a breakdown of the windings has occurred.
