An alternative is the Alcantara steering wheel (synthetic high quality suede), it is resistant to oil, ash, dust and other dirt. You should not choose a steering wheel made of plastic, from a long contact with this material, hands can sweat and slip.

You can make the steering wheel comfortable using a nozzle or removable upholstery, if you don't like it, just remove it at any time.
