Many motorists are faced with the problem of diesel fuel gelling in winter. This happens most often because you use summer diesel fuel or poor quality winter fuel. What to do in this case and how to prevent fuel freezing.
Instructions
Step 1
Diesel fuel has two temperature points: filtration temperature and gelation temperature.
In general, the gel temperature is when your diesel fuel turns to jelly, and there is no way to pump it through fuel lines and fuel filters. This can happen either because you yourself do not pay enough attention to refueling the car, or because at the gas station you were given low-quality fuel, and with a sharp drop in temperature outside, your fuel suddenly turned into jelly.
Step 2
You can fix this problem in the following way. Pour a double or even triple dose of anti-gel additive into the tank, warm up the rest with a jet of hot water. Try using a blowtorch (observe all necessary precautions when doing this).
Step 3
Everything is done like this: light a blowtorch, take a piece of tin pipe about one and a half meters long, about ten centimeters in diameter and direct the flame of the lamp into the pipe, thereby you get something like a heat gun. Also, make sure that the flame does not come out under your car in its pure form, otherwise you risk overheating it. Well, in the most extreme case, just wait for the thaw.
Step 4
In order to prevent subsequent cases of diesel fuel freezing, pay attention to the following points. In the cold season, fill only winter diesel fuel (here, however, it is possible to come across unscrupulous sellers who sell summer diesel fuel under the guise of winter diesel fuel), use anti-gel additives (choose imported options, they are, of course, more expensive than domestic counterparts, but the benefits of them much more), install electric diesel heaters in your car.
