Often the engine is called the heart of the car, and the carburetor is called its valve. Indeed, a lot depends on the correct carburetor setting. These are acceleration dynamics, fuel consumption and CO levels.
Instructions
Step 1
You must have a sufficient level of knowledge and skill to properly adjust the carburetor. Inspect the carburetor. There are two screws to adjust it. The first adjusting screw is responsible for the number of revolutions, and the second for the quality of the mixture. At idle speed, the engine speed and CO content are adjusted with their help.
Step 2
Adjust only at idle speed, the system of which is autonomous. Only at idle speed of the engine can you adjust the quality of the mixture with the appropriate screw.
Step 3
Carefully inspect and, if necessary, tune the ignition systems before adjusting the carburetor. The engine must be fully functional. On a faulty engine, you will not be able to adjust the carburetor correctly. If the ignition and engine are normal, the adjustment will be successful.
Step 4
If you have adjusted the carburetor correctly, the engine will stall when you remove power from the solenoid valve. If this does not happen, then, most likely, there is a hole in the diaphragm, leading to excessive consumption of gasoline. Leave the original idle jet when replacing the solenoid valve. After the adjustment, check whether the throttle valve returns to its original position when the accelerator pedal is released.
Step 5
The engine speed and idle system adjustment must meet all the requirements of the operating instructions. If you do not comply with the standards specified in it, then disrupt the operation of the engine and spend a large amount of money on its repair.
Step 6
If you do not have sufficient experience for this type of work, perform all the necessary procedures only together with a specialist. Pay particular attention to the fact that after adjustment the CO content in the exhaust gases does not exceed the norm.
