Instructions
Step 1
Buy a Ford car repair manual. There are not only step-by-step instructions with illustrations, but also lists of possible faults and recommendations for their elimination. Some publications can be found on specialized sites.
Step 2
Perform routine maintenance. This includes replacing the timing belt and simultaneously reinstalling the oil seals and the pump, inspecting the cylinder head and measuring the compression in the internal combustion engine. Replace the valve cover, intake / exhaust manifold and sump gaskets, spark plugs, engine mounts and sensors. Engine repairs are the most difficult and costly repairs that can happen to your car.
Step 3
Tidy up the transmission. Change the oil in the gearbox, the inner and outer constant velocity joint (CV joint), the speed and reverse sensor. Bleed the clutch.
Step 4
Inspect the front suspension. We can talk about replacing the bearings of the front hubs, levers, shock absorbers, thrust bearings, front stabilizer struts, etc. Change the brake fluid, check the appropriate pads and discs.
Step 5
Adjust steering. Replacement of tie rods, tips, rack, tubes and power steering pump may be required. Expose similarity collapse.
Step 6
Check the rear suspension. All shock absorbers, bearings, pads, struts and stabilizer bushings need periodic replacement, as does the parking brake cable. The most time-consuming work is on the rear suspension arms.
