Instructions
Step 1
Open the hood and remove the negative terminal from the battery. This will de-energize the vehicle and reduce the risk of short circuits to zero.

Move the driver's seat as far back as possible to gain full access to the cigarette lighter, which is usually located on the center console.
Step 3
Take a bright little flashlight and use it to inspect the inside of the cigarette lighter. There should be no foreign objects or debris. If there are any, they must be carefully removed using two matches or tweezers with rubberized ends.
Step 4
Check the fuse responsible for the cigarette lighter. If a short circuit occurs due to a device connected to the cigarette lighter, the fuse blows, and the current supply stops. To resume it, you need to install a new working fuse. To do this, refer to the instruction book. In it you will find information on which fuse to replace. Also, a table of all fuses can be found on the back of the fuse box.
Step 5
Remove the cigarette lighter from the socket if the above methods did not help. To do this, you need to gently pull on the metal rim with pliers. Place a cloth under the teeth of the pliers to avoid leaving marks on the rim.
Step 6
Pull the cigarette lighter out of the socket using some force. If the case is tight, then try to pull it alternately on each side. Do not jerk violently so as not to break the wires.
Step 7
Examine the removed cigarette lighter. Look first for dark carbon deposits. In those places where he is, he is short. Also pay attention to the integrity of the insulation of the wires and the reliability of the soldering. An unsoldered wire can cause a lack of current in the cigarette lighter. Solder the wire gently into place.
Step 8
Replace the cigarette lighter head with a new one if there is current, but the coil does not heat up. From frequent use, the heating element burns out quickly and needs to be replaced. Buy only the head that is designed specifically for your cigarette lighter.
