Step 1
Remove the rubber plugs located on the rear seat cushion installation pillars. They are located in the place where the car floor meets the rear seat and cover the fastening nuts. Unscrew the fastening nuts carefully.
Step 2
Raise the top edge of the rear seat cushion. Slide the seat forward slightly by releasing the clips holding the back of the cushion. Remove the seat cushion from the Mazda 3 interior.
Step 3
Remove the spare wheel bracket located in the luggage compartment of the vehicle. Carefully peel back and remove the retaining plates that secure the front of the luggage compartment mat to the floor. To access the rear seat backrest mountings, remove the front luggage compartment trim.
Step 4
Look carefully in the luggage compartment and find two nuts. Each nut secures one of the seat backs. Unscrew the nuts.
Step 5
Press the rear seat back so that the mounting bolts come out of the holes. Pull the backrest up and remove it by removing the brackets from the brackets. Remove the backrest from the interior of the Mazda 3.
Step 6
Rotate the seat armrests 45 degrees. Unscrew the four fixing bolts and remove the armrests.
Step 7
Remove the two fixing screws securing the headrest to the backrest. Remove the headrest.
Step 8
The Mazda 3 rear seat is installed in reverse order.
Step 9
To remove the front seat of the Mazda 3, you must unscrew the fastening bolts securing the rear of the outer seat trim. Unscrew the seat belt fixing bolt. Slide the front seat cushion forward until it stops and remove the bolts securing the slide to the floor of the vehicle.
Step 10
Slide the seat back until it stops and remove the screws securing the front of the slide. Disconnect the belt tensioner connector. Remove the motors if necessary.
