Shagreen (irregularities and "orange peel" on the paint) can be removed by simple polishing. But in order not to scratch the car, polishing must be carried out correctly, observing all precautions.
Necessary
- - sandpaper P2000;
- - abrasive paste No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3;
- - drill;
- - polishing wheel.
Instructions
Step 1
Rinse the surface to be treated thoroughly. There should be no dirt or dust left on it, otherwise the "skin" will only scratch the paint. The sandpaper also needs to be rinsed and wet. Let it soak and curl up to soften the abrasive
Step 2
Carefully start matting the surface. Do not press hard on the skin, move it in one direction. Do not make circular motions. Look at the result of the work done more often, wet the surface and sandpaper. Remove excess water with a small piece of rubber.
Step 3
Polish the surface until smooth. Then wash your car thoroughly. Apply abrasive paste # 1 to the work area. For this paste you will need a special polishing wheel (the hardest). Moisten it and put it on a regular drill.
Step 4
Polish gently and gently for two or three minutes. Try to treat the surface evenly. Do not press the wheel against the car. After polishing with paste # 1, clean the working area from the remains of abrasive and wipe with a clean soft cloth.
Step 5
Now start polishing the car with # 2 abrasive paste. The abrasive in it is finer, respectively, the paste is softer. It also needs a special polishing wheel. The work process is exactly the same as with paste # 1. After working with this polish, the machine should acquire a shine.
Step 6
Now treat the surface of the car with the last paste - # 3. It is not abrasive, which is why this polish is the softest. This paste also requires a special polishing wheel. After finishing the paint with the last paste, the car should be very shiny and bright.
Step 7
If, after work, traces of polishing wheels appear on the surface of the car, use special washes. They must completely remove these marks. Then wash the machine thoroughly to remove any residual paste.
